I don't disagree with this list except I have to wonder how much research they put into it.
ReplyDeleteRooster Rock isn't near Collins Beach. Well, I guess it is how you define near but not near enough for them to be considered a single location.
So how can they list Rooster Rock and Collins beach as a single location? How much research did they actually put into the list? Are there nude beaches that they are leaving out? I know that England has some nude beaches that didn't make the list.
Like all these lists, a reporter gets an idea, approaches AANR or TNS or INF (AANR in this case) and says 'give me a list of the top ten', which he runs with. Off the top of my head, I might have given the same ten as they are well-known and popular.
ReplyDeleteIn the actual article, Rooster and Collins are not lumped together as one. They are distinctly noted as different beaches. They're being listed one one seems a matter of convenience.
In my humble opinion they left out the best . . . Myconos in Greece! Or a pure white sand private beach on Boracay, Philippines.
The important thing, though, is that this is getting exposure (no pun intended) in a mainstream paper . . . and both Rooster Rock and Collins are truly superlatively beautiful places.

I have thought about going to one of those beaches in Oregon. Which would you recommend for someone who just wants to make it a day trip from Seattle and therefore only has time to visit one of the two beaches?

Actually this place might not be new to you. I think it is another name for Bring Beach.
